Transcriptional profiling service at the NARC platform

The NARC lab at NTNU is equipped with state of the art equipment for microarray analysis. We have to our disposal a semi-automatic hybridization station (Advalytix ArrayBooster TM) and an Agilent microarray scanner. We have an extensive oligo nucleotide collection based mainly on the Arabidopsis Operon (Set version 3.0) plus a set of 2500 custom designed oligos. For labeling of transcripts we use the 3DNA dendrimer labeling method developed by Genisphere (Genisphere Inc., USA).

Customers can send us total RNA and we will perform hybridizations according to experimental design. Each hybridization require 15 µg of high quality total RNA or 500 ng mRNA. Shipment on dry ice is recommended. We recommend that there are at least 4 independent biological replica for each condition tested.

On request we can isolate RNA or grow plants in our environmentally controlled growth cabinets (Vötsch VB1514).

We recommend that you contact us before you initiate large scale experiments as there is several factors that has to be taken into consideration when planning a microarray experiment: such as experimental design, growth and harvesting of material, isolation of RNA and more.

Analysis of microarray data is not included in our main services, but can be requested.
